Easter Worshipper??? Should I Be Offended?

I can’t help but to notice the outrage over the term “Easter Worshippers” used on social media in response to an outrageous group of attacks in Sri Lanka over the weekend. It seems everyone is condemning those that made these comments when just last week Fox News used the same term in an article about the Notre Dame fire.
For all those that want to say we are Christians, not Easter Worshippers well consider this. Going to church / worship on Easter does not make you a Christian. In a literal sense everyone in that church, while not a Christian, was there to celebrate Easter so maybe instead of Easter Worshippers they should have said Easter Celebrators???
For those that say we do not worship Easter. I think you are playing semantics with a funny and interesting English language. While yes that is what Easter worshippers could mean it is quite possible that it could also mean a group of people gathered together on Easter to worship. I think we all know that the second one is probably what was meant and getting bent out of shape over this wording is just looking for a reason to be mad.
The fact that we are upset over this is a testament to what is wrong with our culture today. Instead of focusing on the issue we want to have hurt feelings and focus on them. This turns the issue in our direction. Now instead of the focus being on the attacks you have taken a portion of that attention and focused it on yourself and this controversy.
So a couple of politicians did not say Christians. SO WHAT. Since when did we as Christians start expecting a fallen and sin filled world to recognize us by name. The issue at hand should not be the name that was given to those inside those churches but instead on how we take care of the families that are hurting and how we work together to prevent this from ever happening again.
So that is my opinion and that is all well and good but what does Scripture say about it?
I will leave you with this:
James 1:19-20
Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
